The Pender Arts Council Presents The Southern Swamp Soirée

The Pender Arts Council of Pender County will host its Southern Swamp Soirée on Saturday, April 29th, a gala that will feature local artists and authors while continuing to advance the importance of the arts in Pender County.

The Pender Arts Council will present the Southern Swamp Soirée Saturday, April 29th from 7 to 10 PM featuring savory hors d'oeuvres, local wine & beer, live music, and entertainment by Chip Davis and his Southern Swamp Boogie, as well as book signings by local authors, Claudia Stack (School Belongs to Me), Curtis Hardison (Griot: The Evolution of Edgecombe) and Gary E. Turawick (Born in Reconstruction - The Story of Pender County 1524-2010) all under the mossy canopy of a Carolina starlit sky!

The gala will also serve as the opening reception for the 2023 Springfest Art Show and Sale.

The exhibit will continue to run throughout the week and during the Annual Pender County Spring Fest held on the Courthouse Square on Saturday, May 6.

All Pender County artists are welcome to apply to be a part of this exciting evening and week-long exhibit.

The Pender Arts Council is located in the Old Dees Drug Store Building in Historic Downtown Burgaw at 111 S Wright St, Burgaw, NC 28425.

The Pender Arts Council’s mission is to continue to advance the importance of arts, to actively support local artists, and to integrate a wide range of arts and art-related programs into the community with a goal to provide professional artists with opportunities to exhibit and perform, provide art education classes, and offer community art events.
